Tinybird uses SQL-based API endpoints to let data teams construct real-time Data Products at scale. It can ingest millions of rows per second and serve analytical queries with low latency and high concurrency on any quantity of data. With Tinybird, the Hotels Network processes billions of booking-related data points in real time.
Tinybird Analytics makes it simple to ingest and query massive amounts of data in real time, as well as construct an API to consume those searches automatically. This makes it incredibly simple to create data-querying applications that are both quick and scalable; no back-end is required!
TINYBIRD AND HOPSITALITY INDUSTRY
The Hotel Network (THN) is a cutting-edge data and technology platform for the hospitality industry. THN provides hotels with an ecosystem of tools to help them improve direct reservations using data collected from hotel websites throughout the world. Oraculo, a Predictive Personalization AI model that helps hotels enhance website conversions (“convert lookers into bookers”), and BenchDirect, an interactive benchmarking platform that allows hotels to compare their direct channel performance to its competitors in real time, are among the products.
THN initially saved all of the data in MySQL and adjusted it to its furthest potential, yielding some astounding results. They were, however, restricted by complex, long-running, and difficult-to-monitor data pipelines, slow queries, and slow-to-render charts and analytics as their data and customer bases grew.
THN is now ingesting data into Tinybird on a continual basis (initially via CSV files, now via Kafka). This information is automatically kept and materialised as needed, so it’s ready to use from BenchDirect. They have over 30 Tinybird API endpoints that serve all requests and power BenchDirect metrics, as well as over 140 pipelines that materialise data as it is ingested.
BenchDirect can display all the essential tables and charts that require dynamic statistical computations, filtering, and aggregation capabilities thanks to Tinybird’s powerful templating engine that allows generating dynamic endpoints.
THN’s development process is now faster and more maintainable when it comes to constructing complex queries, owing to Tinybird pipes, because they can easily break down challenges into smaller parts. The same Pipes can then be exposed as REST APIs with ease.
In short, THN has integrated Tinybird into their normal development process and can now run BenchDirect without worrying about scale, allowing their clients all around the world to dynamically compare their hotel performance to their competitors in real time.
